Easter Greetings! From Heart Ridge

On Good Friday a small group of us turned up on what was forecast as a chilly afternoon to "carry our cross" around Heart Ridge for the Way of the Cross.  We stopped, paused, meditated on the mystery of the crucifixion, and sang together to celebrate "What Wonderous Love is This."  As the day progressed, the sun shone and warmed our bodies and souls.  

We hope that the joyous celebration of Easter and Christ's triumph over death reaches you and your loved ones during this whole Easter season.  Here are some upcoming events at Heart Ridge:

This is a very informal event to celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy.  Come and play.  Visit.  Bring a picnic.  Try out the kayaks.  Catch a fish. We can direct you to hikes nearby.   If you are looking for a way to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday, come spend it with us.  We'll have a campfire going if you'd like to bring your own hot dogs and marshmallows.  We'll recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00. 

Retreats are important moments to listen to God … Retreats foster genuine discernment. In the midst of your busy lives, a retreat opportunity affords you time of silence and clarity that cannot be found in the world. (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, 2021)

Although we do have another workday coming up, May 1 (St. Joseph the Worker) and we just completed a great workday March 19 (Solemnity of St. Joseph)  we have an impromptu, urgent need!  We still have more painting to complete in our newly renovated Lakeside Lodge.  We decided to save about $20,000 and paint the interior of the building ourselves.  Keith has taken a few vacation days, plus using weekends and evening to paint.  We've appreciated those of you who have also come to help paint. (Thank you!!)   But, we need one more big push.  Keith is using our Easter break to try and get this finished, but it won't be done unless we get a few more volunteers.  SO if you paint or are willing to try painting please come to Heart Ridge Easter Monday-Wednesday, any day, any time, for as long as you are able to lend us a hand.  We'll even let you paint your name on the wall.  (In white, of course)  

And speaking of workers--I want to thank everyone again who came to our St. Joseph celebration in March.  No one broke any bones this time.  We moved a lot of stuff, made great progress on the trail, and yes, painted.  Thank you, Jesus, for sending such wonderful helpers.
